The tourism sector has taken the decision to hold the event in a face-to-face format after a meeting held on Monday

The TIS - Tourism Innovation Summit 2020 will be held at the Seville Conference and Exhibition Centre (Fibes) from 25 to 27 November in Seville and will be held in person.

The decision was taken by the Central Government, the Andalusian Regional Government, the Seville City Council and the tourism sector at the meeting of the tourism industry that took place this Monday in the city of Seville as a prelude to the TIS2020.

Mayor Juan Espadas highlighted the consensus achieved around this event, which aims to make the city a reference point in terms of innovation and technology applied to the tourism industry, and the fact that it will be held while safeguarding all health measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

"It is feasible to organise this professional event with the health safety protocols and internal organisation that have been drawn up over the last few months as health requirements have been approved. Together we are going to send a message of confidence to the tourism industry by holding a congress that will set the trend in terms of the use of new technologies, which will be crucial when it comes to restarting tourism once the pandemic is over," said the Mayor to approximately fifty representatives of the TIS Advisory Council.

For her part, Silvia Avilés, Director of the TIS-Tourism Innovation Summit, said that "professional events cannot stop". "We are a sector that contributes to the national GDP, as well as energising the market, creating new business opportunities and expanding the country's business fabric", she added.
