The City Council will participate in more than 100 working meetings to establish networks with professionals in the sector
The Tourism Department of the Madrid City Council has announced that it will participate in Virtuoso Travel Week, the luxury tourism industry fair that is being held for the first time in virtual format and will take place from Monday to Thursday, August 13.
With its participation, the City Council wants to demonstrate that Madrid is a safe destination and ready to continue welcoming visitors thanks to the efforts made by the tourism sector in implementing security protocols and the measures adopted by the city itself.
The capital is participating for the ninth consecutive year in this event which allows it to promote its tourist attractions both in the premium sector and in the North American market and, at the same time, to generate networks with professionals in the luxury tourism sector. Since 2009, Madrid has been collaborating with the Virtuoso network through annual promotional campaigns and as a preferred destination for its members.
It will hold 100 business meetings
Madrid City Council Tourism will hold around 100 business meetings during this fair, which brings together agency owners, managers, consultants and travel specialists, as well as the main tourist destinations.
In this edition, information will be provided on the safety protocols implemented by the Madrid tourism sector with different health and risk prevention measures against COVID-19 for both workers and visitors.
It will also show the city's commitment to quality and excellence in its tourist offer, which has been adapted and renewed in the current circumstances.
In addition, the new hotel openings in Madrid within the premium segment and the health and hygiene protocols that have been established in this type of establishment to ensure the safety of all and improve the customer experience will be communicated.

Virtuoso is the luxury travel network in the global tourism industry. This invitation-only consortium has more than 1,100 travel agency locations and over 22,000 travel consultants in 50 countries, primarily in North America.
It brings together some 2,000 luxury travel service providers, including large luxury hotels, incoming agencies, tour operators, luxury cruises, airlines, and various tourist destinations.
Last March, Madrid City Council Tourism participated in a presentation in Canada and in the last quarter of the year will conduct an online training for travel agents Virtuoso in Latin America.
Madrid's presence is also planned in the publications of Virtuoso, Virtuoso Life and Virtuoso Traveler, media that have print runs of up to 200,000 copies.
