For the second consecutive year, the institution has won this international award, which recognises excellence in the business tourism sector.

Madrid, 29 November 2021 - IFEMA MADRID has reaffirmed its position as Best Convention Centre in Europe and Spain at the second edition of the World MICE Awards, international awards that recognise the excellence of business tourism promoters around the world. The aim of these awards is to raise the standards of the MICE sector, rewarding the leading organisations in their field.

"IFEMA MADRID's objective is to offer the best service to attract large international events. This recognition supports the business strategy we are developing, committed to digitalisation and innovation, as well as representing an endorsement of our professional commitment to international business tourism," says José Vicente de los Mozos, Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFEMA MADRID.

MICE activity is one of the pillars of IFEMA MADRID, both with the organisation of its own major trade fairs and in its role as host to major international events and congresses. After the pandemic, IFEMA MADRID has led the way in hosting major international congresses and MICE events in Spain. In this regard, the institution's calendar in recent months has included major international congresses, such as the World ATM Congress, the world's largest congress specialising in air traffic management, which returned to IFEMA MADRID after the pandemic; IEEE GLOBECOM 2021, for the global communications sector; World Pandemics Forum, the global meeting at which global issues and challenges for the construction of new regulations and medical protocols were raised, and the IPU Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly, the meeting of hundreds of parliamentarians from all over the world to discuss contemporary challenges to democracy.
