Rural Meeting, a brand encompassing rural properties with corporate and private event facilities, had just implemented its national expansion plans, beginning with the region of Aragon.
The brand, which to date has only been present in Catalonia, has started to include properties in Aragon in its portfolio. These rural establishments, houses, apartments or hotels, must have, in addition to accommodation, equipped facilities suitable for hosting corporate events, family celebrations and other social events.
Another new development in 2015 is that Rural Meeting has started to include rural establishments with a capacity to host large events in its portfolio. Until now, the capacity of its selection of venues has been limited to smaller events. The incorporation of establishments with more spacious facilities will allow the brand to increase its offering so as to satisfy the needs of larger groups.
In 2013, business tourism generated revenues in the region of 1,800€ million (a year-on-year growth of 15.7%) in Catalonia, which received a total of 1,6 million visitors mainly from France, Scandinavia, UK, Italy and Holland, according to the statistics released by the Catalonia Convention Bureau. Despite the fact that Rural Meeting’s main feeder market is Spain, the brand has noted a slight increase in international clients looking to hold their corporate events or private celebrations at rural venues, close to nature and with fully tailored services.
Rural meeting has been operating in the Catalonian market since 2010, with a portfolio of around 30 properties with limited meeting and event facilities.
