On 26 April 2008, the Jerez Hotel was chosen as the venue for the 1st Meeting of Andalusian Rotary Clubs, organised by the Jerez de la Frontera Rotary Club, which was attended by 130 club members from all over the region: Bahia de Algeciras, Benahavis, Marbella, Benalmadena-Torremolinos, Estepona-Costa del Sol, Fuengirola-Mijas, Granada, Cadiz- Bahía, Jerez de la Frontera, Seville, Huelva, Cordova, and Seville Macarena.
During the meetings, the Rotary Clubs submitted the 33 humanitarian projects currently under way, eight of which were put forward to the Selection Committee with the aim of selecting the 1st Joint Project of the Andalusian Rotary Clubs.

Following the meetings, lunch was served in one of the Jerez Hotel’s function rooms, at the end of which the Rotary Badge was awarded to a new member of the Jerez RC, and medals to the presidents of Cordova RC, Jerez RC and Huelva RC for increasing membership and to the President of Jerez RC and his wife as benefactors of the Rotary Foundation.
