Last weekend, TUI invited representatives from the 100 best hotels in the world to its yearly Holly Awards. This year, amongst the top 100 hotels were 52 newcomers. The Duque de Nájera (Rota), Barrosa Palace (Chiclana) and Isla Cristina Palace (Isla Cristina) Hotels, all located on the Costa de la Luz, were the only award candidates from the Iberian Peninsula, which goes to show the area's excellent hospitality industry.

At a ceremony held in Berlin last weekend, Volker Boettcher, president of TUI Germany, presented the awards to the winners. Juan Sañudo, director of the Duque de Najera Hotel and Jan De Clerck, president of the HACE Group, both attended the ceremony.

With approximately 10,000 candidates a year, the TUI Holly Award ceremony has been celebrated for the last 15 years, general client satisfaction being the key factor. As regards the Duque de Najera Hotel, it has figured among the top 100 since being opened in 1998, as well as having been in the top 10 during several years, and being voted the top hotel in the world in 2004.

The award winners are chosen on the basis of 500,000 questionnaires completed by TUI’s clients.
