Many wedding suppliers have reported record bookings – let’s look at some of the reasons they are successful.
Actively promote off-peak weddings
Fill your off-peak dates and times! Destination wedding couples coming to Spain are on holiday. They don’t mind what day of the week they have their wedding ceremony so actively promote week day wedding bookings and morning ceremonies – when it is cooler!
Special offers for special days
Encourage couples who might not have previously been able to afford your wedding venue with special out-of-season offers.
In southern Spain we boast up to 320 days of sunshine a year, so make sure the April and October dates are fully booked by offering accommodation discounts, restaurant vouchers or children-go-free deals – you will benefit in the long run by creating a longer wedding season.
Tiny weddings are exploding!
Big fat weddings are not as popular as they once were.
Couples preferring a stress-free smaller wedding with just their immediate family and friends say they look forward to sharing quality time with everyone during their special day rather than feeling the pressure to speak to every guest.
- Be open-minded to the possibility of two weddings in one day. Take a good hard look at your venue. How can you reconfigure the space available?
- Small weddings are trending and suppliers need to jump on the tiny wedding bandwagon and rethink their ceremony space to take advantage.
- Create two wedding teams and double bookings by accommodating two small weddings on the same day instead of one big one.
You could book a traditional wedding indoors and a micro elopement outdoors on the dame day, doubling your bookings!
Wild about elopements
Wild elopements are magical, romantic ceremonies usually set outdoors without any guests.
Does your venue have huge grounds or special garden spaces? They could be perfect for symbolic elopement ceremonies with just the couple and their celebrant… and their photographer.
The incongruous opulence of a banquet table laid for two outdoors with an overhanging chandelier contrasting with the majesty of nature is attracting unconventional couples who want their Instagram wedding photo to go viral…. And if you are tagged that means you are going viral too!
Remember, with elopements it’s all about the Instagram – insist on being tagged and the venue and suppliers involved will benefit from free marketing!
Lots of ideas to increase your bookings have your longest wedding season ever!
