Urban Fashion and Expansion in Barcelona: Bread and Butter 2008

Bread & Butter, the most important urban fashion trade show in Europe, held its pre-show bash at the National Museum of Catalonian Art (MNAC) last Tuesday evening. The show, which opened last Wednesday 16, will be closing today.

The slogan for this 6th edition of the show was King Size, due to the enlarged exhibition space. On this occasion, 954 exhibitors occupied 100,000m2 at three different venues: the Fira of Barcelona, the Palau Nacional and the Mied van der Rohe hall.

The show attracts thousands of visitors in the low season, meaning that as well as increasing hotel occupancy, it also helps to promote Barcelona, the European capital of casual wear.

The organisers decided to enlarge the exhibition space for this winter edition of the show. So, as well as the traditional stands, textile producers were exhibiting in Hall 6, as a preview of The Source, a parallel show to held in future editions.

A large number of Chalets were assembled for registration purposes and the restaurant area. And, lastly a 10x20m Delta, together with two 4x4m Pyramids, were used for exhibition purposes.
