The 2nd Universal Design Forum, scheduled to be held at the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) from 17-18 February 2011, will include two new areas: "Innovation for All" and "Space of Experiences".

For the second year running, the Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) will be hosting the 2nd Universal Design Forum, due to be held from 17-18 February 2011. The event, whose main aim is to offer novel solutions for implementing universal design in all sectors of society and obtaining the representation and participation of all the actors involved, is geared to professionals from public and private organizations and entrepreneurs related to the said sectors, specialists in education, associations, and the general public.

New features include the areas "Innovation for All" and "Space of Experiences". The former is a special area for exhibiting new developments and innovations applied to products and services related to universal design, accessibility and mobility; while the latter is an area dedicated to showcasing the projects and good practices developed by the public administrations, aimed at improving urban environments in line with the criterion of "Design for All".

Likewise, the event has a number of different areas where companies and institutions can interact with the public, thus providing them with a set of excellent promotional and sales tools: the exhibition area with customized and modular stands, where different companies will exhibit their innovative products, solutions and services applied to universal design; a networking area, located within the exhibition area, for presentations and workshops; and parallel activities, such as business meetings, conferences and different session tracks, to be held in the centre's breakout rooms.

With expected attendance figures in the region of 600 delegates, the 2nd International Congress will be held parallel to the event, bringing together professionals and top keynote speakers to discuss themes such as technology at the service of communication, education and culture, transport and mobility, design at the service of users, and the social and economic aspects of managing a new urban design.

Those interested in attending the congress can now register, as can companies and institutions interested in participating in the 2nd International Universal Design Forum.

The Universal Design Forum is promoted by Malaga City Council, the Department of Equality and Social Welfare of the Andalusian Regional Government, the ONCE Foundation and the Spanish Committee of Representatives of the Disabled (CERMI). The event is sponsored by Vodaphone, the ACS Foundation, Grupo Hexa and Vincci Hoteles. Likewise, the Ministry of Health and Social Policies also collaborates through CEAPAT and IMSERSO, the Royal Society for the Disabled, the State Centre of Personal Autonomy and Technical Support, and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
