In line with the company’s expansion plans, Ultramar Express Transport, TUI Spain’s transport division, has just opened a new transport centre. With the new centre, the company now has eight in Spain and four in the Canary Islands, where it operates in Gran Canary, Tenerife and Fuerteventura. The transport centre’s coaches started to operate on 1 November, receiving tourists from the cruise ships Terminator of the Seas and Casta Diva.

Lanzarote is one of the main brochure destinations managed by TUI Spain. The destination’s importance both as a cruise ship port of call and for group travel has weighed heavily in the decision to open the new transport centre, since it will go a long way to improving the existing services.

The new transport centre has a fleet of 10 coaches – five Iveco, four Scania and one Man – all with Irizar and Andecar coachwork. The centre, located in the neighbourhood of Tenorio, has two garages, office space and its own diesel deposit. Characteristically of this dynamic company, Ultramar Express Transport has already signed collaboration agreements with local transport companies.

At present, Ultramar Express Transport has a fleet of more than 200 state-of-the-art coaches in Spain, equipped with the latest in safety measures complying with EU standards, managed by a team of 263 people.

TUI Spain, a subsidiary of the TUI Travel PLC, leader in the European tourist industry, is Spain’s main incoming tourist agency. With nearly 1,600 employees, the company has offices in the country’s main destinations, as well as the Dominican Republic. More than 5,000,000 clients a year use the company’s services.
