The UITT, the Ukraine International Travel and Tourism Exhibition, gets underway today at the International Exhibition Centre (IEC) in Kiev.

Some 750 companies
UITT is recognised as the leading travel and tourism exhibition in Ukraine and attracts key international travel industry players looking to promote their products and increase their presence in the Ukrainian market.

The show, which will close on 31 March, will host some 750 companies from over 40 countries and regions. The international participation in this year’s edition represents a 38% increase on last year’s figures.

Frederique Maurell, Senior Event Director says, “We are overwhelmed by the results of UITT 2007. It is a great indicator to see new destinations joining UITT. We believe this fantastic growth is due to a number of factors including the economic climate in Ukraine and the development of the Ukraine tourism industry, with increasing numbers of Ukrainians travelling abroad.”

Turespaña among first-time exhibitors
New exhibitors include Turespaña, Jordan, Slovenia, the German National Tourist Office and Lithuania.

UITT is supported by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UN WTO) and Pacific Asia Tourism Association (PATA), as well as being a member of the International Travel Trade Fairs Association (ITTFA).
