The JCB will be holding its 14th General Meeting at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art on 24 March.

Juan Manuel Garcia Bermudez, head of the Tourism Department, welcomed the participants of the fam trip – organized by the Tourist Board in collaboration with the Jerez Convention Bureau – at the city’s Bullfighting Museum.

During the trip, the representatives of incentive houses, advertising and marketing agencies, and professional congress organizers (PCOs) – including Viajes Halley, Acción Médica, Sankara Eventos, Soluciones Eficaces, Kuoni, The Spanish Heritage and Grupo 7 Viajes – got to know firsthand the city’s main attractions, including wineries, museums, and horse shows.

Garcia Bermudez underlined the importance of actions of this type for promoting the destination: “This activity is in line with one of the main objectives of the Tourism Marketing and Promotion Plan; that is to say, to position Jerez as a competitive destination in the quality tourism market.”

Along these lines, Garcia Bermudez also indicated: “Our aim is to show these professionals, besides the city’s differentiating factors, such as horses, wine and flamenco, Jerez’s enormous capacity for hosting meetings and events.”

The 50 odd companies belonging to JCB will be attending the bureau’s 14th Ordinary General Meeting, due to be held at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art on 24 March. The 2009 Annual Report and Jerez City Council’s Tourism Plan, setting out JCB’s lines of action for 2010, will be submitted and discussed at the meeting.

In collaboration with Jerez City Council, JCB will carry out 15 sales actions keyed to promoting and marketing the city in the national meetings and event market, including four presentations to be made in Spain’s main feeder markets, as well as the city’s participation in two specialized fairs and the organization of additional fam trips for more than 150 travel agents and congress and event planners, with the aim of showcasing the city and the facilities managed by JCB.
