Coinciding with the 14th edition of the "Tarraco Viva" Festival, which was held in Tarragona from 17-27 May 2012, the Tarragona Convention Bureau (TCB) organized a fam trip with the aim of showcasing the city as a meeting and event destination.
The fam trip included representatives from six specialized MICE media companies, who were treated to a complete programme of activities and visits, allowing to get to know firsthand the city’s meeting and event facilities.
The programme included an inspection tours of Port Aventura Convention Centre, Lumine, La Boella, the Tarragona Congress Centre and El Seminari, as well as generous dose of local traditions, culture and cuisine, with a guided tour of "Roman Tarraco", courtesy of Argos Serveis Culturals, a demonstration given by the Xiquets Human Castle Group of Tarragona, and a gladiatorial games recreation at the city’s Roman amphitheatre, a show featuring in the "Tarraco Viva" Festival programme.
With this kind of initiative, included in its 2012 Action Plan, the TCB aims to position the city in the meetings and event market, as well as strengthening the Tarragona brand as a MICE destination.
