Sales visits, sector meetings, and attracting events figured among the objectives of the TCB at the 2013 edition of FITUR.
As in previous years, the Tarragona Convention Bureau (TCB) attended FITUR with the aim of conducting a series of sales visits so as to contribute to the promotion of Tarragona as a MICE destination and, at the same time, to close the bids the bureau has submitted for several congresses programmed for 2013, all geared to positioning the destination and drumming up leisure and business tourism business.
Furthermore, the TCB also attended the 5th National Business Travel Congress, one of Spain’s benchmark events and a meeting point for the country’s leading travel managers, organized by IBTM, where the bureau’s representatives met with trade associations and professionals so as to establish a roadmap for future collaboration keyed to completing the 2013 Action Plan and to promote cooperation and partnerships keyed to developing the MICE industry.
A clear example of the TCB’s activity is the meeting that it held recently in Tarragona, before the show, attended by the Head of Tourism and President of the Tarragona Convention Bureau, Patricia Anton, and Rafael Peris and Jose Milan, president and vice-president of OPC Catalunya, respectively, this being the first official visit since the election of the new board.
