Statistics Are Proved Wrong - Facebook Now Not Cause of Breakups Between Couples…It Now Unites Them

According to a recent study conducted in the UK a few weeks ago, social networks have become one of the main causes of divorce. Specifically, one out of five people who decided to put an end to their marriage in 2009 cited Facebook as the cause.

It would seem that the lack of real communication between couples and flirting with other people or friends on the Web are to blame for this situation.

Madrid’s Emperador Hotel has taken this very seriously and, on the occasion of St Valentine’s Day, has launched a special competition on its Facebook profile. With a very romantic aim – that of uniting couples – the hotel’s Facebook fans are encouraged to post a romantic comment about someone special to them or just a post about love in general, in the most fun, romantic and creative way possible. The person whose comment receives the greatest number of votes from fans will win a special free St Valentine’s night for two.

The prize includes a special romantic dinner for two, superior room accommodation, welcome cava and buffet breakfast. The value of this special package is €125 per person.

The romantic dinner, with appropriate music to create the right atmosphere, includes seafood soup with angler and clams, fillets of sole à la “Dieppoise”, sirloin with pink pepper sauce and glazed vegetables, and white and pink chocolate with strawberry sauce. The dinner costs €65 per person for those couples looking to celebrate a memorable St Valentine’s Day.

Those Facebook fans wishing to participate can do so until Thursday, 11 February. Good luck and happy St Valentine!
