The Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Destination Management Companies (AEDMC) has endorsed the appointment of Luis Diaz to the post of executive director. Luis Diaz has worked for the Carlson Wagonlit Travel group for 32 years, where he has occupied the post of head of incoming services in Spain and, later on, in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Luis Diaz, who was AEDMC’s first president, has stated that he is looking forward to the challenge of working towards the achievement of the following aims:
- Disseminating the work of Spanish DMCs both in Spain and abroad.
- Developing good internal and external communications.
- Developing new areas of collaboration and synergies with agencies and other event industry trade associations.
- Creating regional chapters.
- Increasing membership.
- Acting as a spokesman for members and defending their vindications.
- Promoting institutional agreements with the service providers used by DMCs.

In short, the idea is to make the most of the experience of the association’s members, comprising the leading companies in Spain’s MICE industry.
