The Spain Convention Bureau Selects Seville as the Host City of its Annual Meeting

Seville has been chosen to host the Spain Convention Bureau’s annual meeting next year. Over 150 delegations – representing both the public and private sector – from all over Spain are expected to attend the three-day meeting to held in March 2008, Fibes, the city’s congress centre, being the most likely venue.

New project
The Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) will take the opportunity to present the first lines of action of a project in which a work group, formed by representatives from the municipalities of Seville, Barcelona, San Sebastian, Madrid, Cuenca, Valencia, Valladolid, Santiago de Compostela and Gijon, is currently participating. The project’s chief aim is to create “municipal tourist management agencies with the active participation of the private sector”.

Created in 1984 by FEMP, the Spain Convention Bureau currently has 41 members. Spain Convention Bureau is the brand name used in activities aimed at promoting the congress and meeting industry.
