Spain Chosen as Best Tourist Destination at BIT Milan

According to a recent announcement made by the Spanish Institute of Tourism (Turespaña), Spain had been chosen as the best tourist destination at the tourism trade show BIT, which was held in Milan from 21-24 February 2008.

In addition to winning the award for the best tourist destination, Spain also competed in two other categories, that of the best congress destination and that of the best city destination (Barcelona), awards that were given to Italy and Paris, respectively.

The awards, sponsored by Expocts and the publishing group Mondadori, the organisers of BIT, are given to the most popular Italian and international destinations with Italian tourists and professional tour operators.
