The company has developed puzzle-type games, as well as map navigation-based, image association and photo album apps.

It is a hybrid system, somewhere between a video game console and a traditional interactive system, since it combines both technologies: one the one hand, a PC platform is used and, on the other, a Kinect motion sensor, a device developed by Microsoft for the Xbox 360.

This combined technology allows for the development of games in which the users interact with a screen, without physical contact, by moving their body or limbs. Situated between 2-3m from the screen, users can drag, zoom into, open and move objects, among other actions.

Thanks to the technology powering the Kinect console, it is possible to configure the type of movement, the distance of the player from the screen, etc., while at the same time synchronizing with PC platforms, all of which makes it possible to develop customized software.

SONO has developed several simple gaming applications for the Kinect platform, including puzzle-type games, as well as map navigation-based, image association and photo album apps, which users can browse by moving their arms.

SONO develops several apps for Kinect interactive system

As the Kinect system is a cross between a video game and a traditional interactive system, SONO is currently working on a project consisting in a game for two players, who have to load a lorry with boxes of a referred brand, the winner of course being the first to load all the boxes. Therefore, the system offers many possibilities for customizing any kind of app, something that is difficult to envision from the perspective of a video game.
