SIMA Promotes Spain as MICE Destination in USA

From 20-22 March, the Spain Incentives and Meetings Association (SIMA&#41, in collaboration with Turespaña, organized a promotional event, consisting of workshops and networking sessions, in Carlsbad-North San Diego, in California.

The aim of the event, entitled “The Taste of Spain,” was to strengthen the country’s image in the States as a MICE destination. Around 20 American incentive and meeting planners, operating all over the world, assisted the workshops and presentations, programmed in the 2009 Action Plan, to get to know firsthand the Spanish meetings and event industry’s products and services.

At the end of the event, all those taking part expressed their satisfaction with the important contacts they had made, hoping that these would lead to the organization of a large number of incentive trips to Spain in the short and medium term.

Working closely with Turespaña, SIMA is a lynchpin in the strategy keyed to promoting Spain as a MICE destination chiefly in the American and Canadian markets.
