The Vice-president of the Spanish Federation of Professional Congress Organizers Matilde Almandoz was a member of the jury of the Spanish MICE industry’s most outstanding awards.

On the evening of 4 July, the Spanish MICE industry held one of its most important events: the Eventoplus Awards ceremony. Around a 1,000 trade professionals attended the 7th edition of event, held at the Madrid Abattoir, for an amazing evening’s entertainment full of surprises and music. The jury of the Eventoplus Awards, comprising leading industry professionals, included the Vice-president of OPC Spain.

Federation members among award winners
The strong representation of OPC España at the event had an outstanding finale, since two of its members received awards: Factoria de Servicios, a member of OPC Comunidad Valenciana, was awarded the Bronze Prize in the category "Best Congress" for "Quimica Fusion".

Likewise, SCP – a company that collaborates with OPC Madrid y Centro – received two awards: the Gold Prize in the "Entertainment/Show" Category for Trendvision 2011, and the Silver Prize in the "Best Convention" category for technology and value added in "El futuro está en tu mano".

Focus on sustainability
Society as a whole is increasingly more aware of the culture of sustainability, and the MICE industry mirrors this concern in its daily activity. Therefore, OPC España’s stand at the last edition of the MICE show Evento Days was an exponent of the growing importance of environmental protection. One of its chief characteristics was the material of which it was made: wood with the Pino Soria Burgos quality assurance mark, which offers a number of advantages with respect to aluminum, the material traditionally used, such as lower energy consumption with regard to air conditioning, greater stability and structural strength, and better thermal insulation. Furthermore, when it reaches the end of its product life, all the materials can be recycled.
