Most Participative IGC Yet Gets Underway in Barcelona on 16 April

The ninth edition of the Internet Global Congress (IGC), a benchmark forum for debating technological advances and applications and the development of the digital society, will be held at the Fira de Barcelona Congress Centre between 16-19 April.

More active participation
With the object of stimulating debate and encouraging more active public participation, thematic blocks and plenary sessions with be replaced by 24 thematic sessions, each of which with one international keynote speaker, one national keynote speaker, and a group of panellists who will help speakers formulate conclusions for their subsequent dissemination.

In addition to these sessions led by prestigious specialists, IGC 2007 will showcase the most attractive technological innovations in The Village, a special exhibit and networking area.

Figures for 2006
More than 3,600 people attended the 2006 edition of the congress, which had 25 keynote speakers including internationally recognised experts of the calibre of Gilberto Gil, Brazil’s minister of culture.
