Malaga, Bite by Bite: a Culinary Experience to Discover Destinations

Over 100 people enjoyed this culinary experience, organized by Exploramas, savouring the destination’s singular cuisine and touring its most emblematic attractions.

The best fried fish in Malaga and the Picasso Museum; authentic Spanish ham and the secrets of the city’s cathedral; the tastiest salmorejo and the streets of Malaga’s historical centre.

At the beginning of February, over 100 employees of an agro-food multinational participated in the experience Malaga, Bite by Bite, a tour of the city’s historical centre in which they discovered its cuisine and some of its most emblematic attractions.

"The activity is a very gratifying experience that we usually organize for incentive groups and congress or meeting delegates," explained Manuel Araujo, CEO of Exploramas. "Tours are tailored to each event, adapting them to the interests of the group in question, and there is also the option of focusing on a specific theme or including challenges."

At the end of 2013, Exploramas organized its largest culinary tour to date, also in Malaga, with the participation of 700 people, all working for a multinational.

"We don’t only organize this experience in Malaga, but also in other destinations such as Barcelona, Madrid, Marbella or Seville," said Araujo, while emphasizing the possibilities offered by gastronomy. "In several of our events, local cuisine has played a fundamental role so as immerse participants in the destination."

Along these lines, in addition to tasting dishes on the culinary tours and gymkhanas, Exploramas organizes events in which the participants are asked to guess the ingredients used and prepare the destination’s specialties. "This is central to our flamenco team-building activity, in which participants prepare gazpacho or sangria, or in our Catalonian team building experience, where they try their hand at preparing pa amb tomàquet, among other dishes", said Araujo.
