Malaga will be exhibiting at the World Travel Market 2007 (WTM) with a stand 50% larger than last year, showcasing the city’s new brand name “Malaga ciudad genial”, among other new features.

Objectives
One of the main objectives is to consolidate Malaga as a city and cultural tourism destination, as well as the ideal place for learning languages and for business tourism and an excellent port of call for cruise liners, sectors in which the city is already well placed.

With the aim of promoting Malaga as a destination with it own identity and plenty of things to do, adapting itself perfectly to city breaks, one of the fastest growing travel sectors, the city’s mayor Francisco de la Torre met last Friday with the director general of TUI in Spain, Europe’s largest tour operator, to discuss the possibility of including Malaga in the companies catalogue. It is hoped that an agreement will be reached during WTM.

Likewise, the people in charge of the city council’s tourism department have scheduled a series of meetings with representatives of the low-cost airlines operating flights between the UK and Malaga and with the tourist industry’s leading tour operators.
