One of the new features in the Malaga Congress and Trade Show Centre’s 2008 agenda, the show will be held from 16-19 April, coinciding with Mediterranean Golf.

Landscape gardening will be one of the main features of the Jardinova, the 1st Garden, Swimming Pool and Wellness Trade Show, differentiating it from other existing industry shows. Jose Galan Vivas, president of the Spanish Association of Landscape Gardeners, will be offering a keynote speech on the present and future of landscape gardening in Spain.

The idea behind Jardinova is to provide manufacturers, distributors, installers, and garden and swimming maintenance companies, as well as a large number of garden and green area equipment suppliers, with a platform for showcasing their latest products and services in an event for trade professionals and the general public alike.

Some of the industry’s key players will be at Jardinova, including the garden suppliers Viveros Guzman, Viveros del Valle and Agrojardin, the pool manufactuers Piscinas Europa, Steel Pool and WaterAir, and the distribution company Baeza.

Technical seminars
Furthermore, the technical seminar programme keyed to trade professional and landscape gardeners from Spain and abroad, which is scheduled for 17 April, will revolve around environmental protection and water saving.

The seminar’s round table discussions will centre on urban riverbed conservation and its opportunities, along with the main plant diseases and plagues, the latter addressed by the Regional Government’s Agrarian Research and Development Centre.

Reading University (UK) will be giving a conference entitled City Biodiversity, based on plant collections.

Programmed activities will include Words in the Garden, a photographic exhibition, combing poetry and prose, aimed at showcasing the endless possibilities of green areas, allowing visitors to get to know designs, tendencies and options from a variety of countries.

Furthermore, there will be a series of seminars devoted to the swimming pool industry. Sponsored by the Spanish Association of Swimming Pool Manufactures and Technicians, the programme will centre on technical aspects and equipment, with a special area for exhibiting new products.

The show, one of the new features in the Malaga Congress and Trade Show Centre’s 2008 agenda, will be held from 16-19 April, coinciding with Mediterranean Golf.
