The main objective of the initiative “Jaen, Province in the Air”, programmed within the framework of the ActivaJaen Plan financed equally by the central, regional and provincial administrations, with an initial investment of 1.2 million euros, is to promote sports and outdoor tourism in the province.

Air sports
The project “Jaen, Province in the Air”, which includes the adaptation and improvement of facilities for air sports such as paragliding, hang gliding and motorised paragliding, is aimed at bringing the province’s choice of leisure activities in line with present trends in demand.

As well as adapting flying areas in the province’s natural spaces, such as the Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park, Sierra Magina Natural Park, and Sierra Sur, the Cornocabral airdrome in Beas del Seguro will be recovered and modernised, among other works.

The Andalusian province with the biggest growth
Jaen is the Andalusian province that has grown most in 2006 (until November), with a 16.3% increase in overnight stays, way above the region’s average (4.4%).
