Senior members of the meetings industry including Chris Parnham from Absolute Corporate Events, Andrew Stokes from Marketing Manchester and Linda Pereira from CPL Events gathered together on Monday last week for The Meetings Show’s regular Advisory Board meeting at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (the QEIICC).

"Throughout the intensive workshop, the group examined and critiqued our plan for the 2014 show. They unanimously supported our ideas and fed back a range of additional improvements and suggestions that will allow us to grow The Meetings Show and deliver a fantastic event later this year," commented Steve Knight, event director of The Meetings Show.

Kerrin McPhee, director of sales at ACC Liverpool: "I am delighted to continue my role on The Meetings Show’s Advisory Board. The inaugural event was a tremendous success; I have not heard a single negative comment about the event and expect 2014 to be even better. The Meetings Show team have been working incredibly hard since the close of the 2013 show; sales are well ahead of target and its buyer and visitor marketing strategies are thorough, targeted and focused on exceeding the expectations of all involved. I think 2014 will generate some real surprises for the whole industry, particularly association attendees who will have a huge amount to take away from their time on the show floor and through the education programme."

Tracy Halliwell, director of business tourism and major events at London & Partners: "The depth of planning, detail and thought process behind the planning of the show is immediately clear. Nothing is too much trouble for the organisers and they are continually seeking ways to make changes – no matter how small – that will benefit both exhibitors and visitors. More importantly the organisers are continually considering key industry trends and reacting to them in an effective and engaging way to make sure the show evolves."

The Meetings Show’s strategic advisor, Paul Kennedy MBE commented: "Once again the advisory board has demonstrated the huge value they deliver to The Meetings Show. The group represents the whole industry at a very senior level and it was a real delight to have their input and insight. Our task now is to take away the huge number of creative ideas they presented to us, distil them and align them with our current plans so we can deliver a knock out show in July 2014."

The Meetings Show’s advisory board is led by Paul Kennedy MBE and includes a range of industry leaders and experts from both the buyer and supplier side of the meetings industry.

The Meetings Show is a major event for the UK inbound and outbound meetings industry, organised by Centaur Exhibitions and taking place 8-10 July 2014 at Olympia, London. Organised by meeting professionals for meeting professionals it is focused around a large exhibition, networking opportunities and professional education.
