The International Golf Travel Market (IGTM), one of the most important events in the golf travel industry calendar, which has just celebrated its 10th edition in Cancun, will be returning to Marbella (Malaga) for its 2008 edition. Spain will become the first country to host IGTM three times, having previously done so in 2006 (Marbella) and 2005 (Gran Canary).

After hosting a record number of exhibitors and buyers from over 55 countries, including North America, Japan, New Zealand, Argentina, South Africa and key European destinations, Cancun has now handed over IGTM 2008 to Andalusia. Early indications show that 2008 is already set to be a record year due to both the continued growth in golf tourism and the number of stands already re-booked for 2008.

Spain will be the first country to host this event on three occasions, having already done so in 2006 (Marbella) and in 2005 (Gran Canary). In next year’s edition, the organisers expect to equal the 1,400 trade professionals and 400 exhibitors from 45 countries present at the 2006 edition. In addition, the event is expected to attract a greater number of North American trade professionals and exhibitors due to the direct flight between New York and Malaga, which Delta Airways will begin to operate in June 2008, and the new connection between Montreal and the capital of the Costa del Sol, operated by Air Transat.
