Seven thousand and thirty-one experts from over 100 different countries gathered at the RAI Convention Centre in Amsterdam (Holland) from 3-7 July for the 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC).

The 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer easily broke previous attendance, country representation and scientific content records as well - with 1,881 submitted abstracts. As in 2003, 2007 and 2009, full conference management services were provided by International Conference Services Ltd. (ICS).

With up to 18 parallel sessions, it is impossible to see all the speakers at a WCLC conference. Enter the virtual meeting. This application allows delegates to view conference content online after the meeting has concluded. With a 24 hour turn-around time to upload content after it is presented, ICS has developed an extremely efficient way to share presented information quickly. Over 1,500 medical professionals agreed as they purchased the added service within the first week of its launch. This has encouraged ICS to focus on virtual meetings in the future—in an effort to extend the educational lifespan of conferences they manage.

Hosted every two years by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), the conference is the largest international gathering of clinicians and scientists in the lung cancer field.

"WCLC is a perfect example how our individualized approach has proven beneficial for our clients," said Mathias Posch, ICS President and Partner. "Since ICS has managed the WCLC, the meeting has grown every time and the overwhelmingly positive feedback from delegates, speakers, sponsors and the Board is testament to our dedicated service. This is why we are now working with more than 10 associations - most of them international - on a long term basis."

Established in 1976, International Conference Services Ltd. (ICS) has a great track record in organizing large events in its headquarters city of Vancouver (Canada) and around the world. ICS recently expanded by opening an additional office in Vienna (Austria) to better serve their European clientele.
