Hotel Occupancy on the Costa del Sol Reached 78.88% in July 2007

According to figures obtained by AEHCOS (Costa del Sol Hoteliers’ Association), hotel occupancy in the province of Malaga last July reached 78.88%, corresponding to 1,885,653 overnight stays.

Figures are up 2% from the same period last year, which is equivalent to 45,630 overnight stays.

Forecast for August
An occupancy rate of 81.69% is forecast for August, slightly higher than that for the same period last year.

Breakdown by nationality
An analysis of the data obtained by AEHCOS gives the following breakdown by nationality of the clients staying in hotels on the Costa del Sol during July: Spain (41.35%), United Kingdom (28.69%), Germany (4.68%), France (3.36%), Holland (2,69%%), Belgium (2.24%) and Scandinavia (1.84%).
