Hotel Occupancy on the Costa del Sol Reached 55.01% in February 2008

According to figures obtained by AEHCOS (Costa del Sol Hoteliers’ Association), hotel occupancy in the province of Malaga reached 55.01% in February, an occupancy rate similar to that registered last year.

In February, hotels on the Costa del Sol registered a total of 1,204,332 overnight stays, up 42.473 on figures for February 2007. An occupancy rate of 59.44% is forecast for March.

The breakdown of the clients staying at hotels on the Costa del Sol during February 2008 by country of origin is as follows: United Kingdom (34.16%), Spain (33.98%), Germany (6.55%), Scandinavia (3.57%), Holland (3.14%), USA (2.44%), and France (1.42%).
