Granada’s tourist board is currently promoting the province at the 27nd edition of Milan’s BIT (International Tourism Exchange), Italy’s most important tourism fair, which closes the following 25 February.

One of Granada’s most important markets
Northern Italy is one of the province of Granada’s most important markets, due in part to the air connection that the low-cost airline Ryanair established between Milan and Granada last October.

Attendance of companies from Granada
The province of Granada has three exhibitors at Turespaña’s stand in the area set aside from Andalusia. A dozen tourist companies based in the province are present at the fair, of which it is worth mentioning Granavison and Alquiauto, both members of the portal Event Planner Spain, and the Provincial Federation of Hospitality and Tourism Companies.

Statistics for 2005
In 2005, 69,137 Italians stayed at hotels in the province of Granada. The average profile of Italian tourists visiting the area is a young person with spending power, who does not usually repeat the experience. In fact, the number of Italians visiting Granada in the last seven years has fluctuated greatly, although annual figures have remained in the 59,000-71,000 range.
