The award-winning animated short film is an ambitious bid by the Malaga-based production company Andale to raise its profile in the quality animated film market.

Fuga, an ambitious animated film directed by Juan Antonio Espigares and produced by Kike Mesa, CEO of Andale Films, received the Silver "Biznaga" Award for the Best Animated Short Film at the Malaga Film Festival last Friday. Produced in Malaga, Fuga competed against 16 high-quality shorts in the same category, representing the finest in Spain in this genre.

With the support of the regional government’s Culture Department, Fuga – which has been two years in the making – is an ambitious bid by the Malaga-based production company Andale to make a name for itself in the quality animated film market.

Under the skillful direction of Espigares, the film combines several animation techniques, featuring diverse aesthetics, with real images. The soundtrack, one of the cornerstones of the film, has been composed by the maestro Arturo Diez Boscovich and performed by the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra. Last but not least, the actresses Nerea Camacho and Noelia Gomez have lent their voices to the main characters of this short film, which, after its success at the festival, will now be released.
