The congress facility, which has recently presented its results for 2014, is optimistic about its business activity in the coming months. Last year marked the consolidation of Forum Evolucion Burgos’ position as a yardstick national congress venue in Spain. This means that this congress facility already forms part of the congress venue portfolio of the county’s decision-makers, and that Burgos has managed to place itself on the national MICE market map.

During 2014, the venue hosted a total of 152 activities attended by 133,181 people. Cultural events represented 32% of the total and congresses and meetings 68%. As regards meetings, 25% were of a corporate nature and 13% were scientific or institutional.

In 2014, the congress facility has an estimated economic impact of €5,294,364 on the city.

With regard to the facility’s 2015 event agenda, there is reason for optimism. At the moment, a total of 104 activities have been confirmed for 2015, 12 for 2016, and one for 2017.

On the subject of congresses and conventions, most importantly Burgos has hosted a record number of national congresses in the spring of 2015. Only from March-June, eight major national congresses have been confirmed, with the attendance of 3,500 delegates, which will generate around 7,000 room nights, the number totalling 12 by the end of the year. Until now, Burgos has never hosted such a large number of national congress delegates in such a short time. Among the congresses on the agenda it is important to mention the 15th National Congress of the Spanish Society for Neurospinal Disorders, the 5th Ibero-American Congress on Social Networks, the 34th National Seminars of the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Treatment, the 20th ANEMBE International Congress of Bovine Medicine, the 32nd National Congress on Mental Health Nursing, and the 35th Congress of the Spanish Society for Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
