Forty-one Percent of the 59 Million Tourists Visiting Spain in 2007 Booked Online

In 2007, Spain received 59.2 million tourists from abroad, up 1.7% on figures for the previous year. Forty-one percent of the total booked their trips on the Internet (up 21.9% from the year before) and 37.9% paid online (24.5% more).

According to the results of the FRONTUR survey, there was a significant increase in overseas tourist using the Internet, with 49.5% of them carrying out online research before travelling to Spain (16.3% up on figures for 2006), 41.3% booking online (up 21.9%), and 37.9% paying online (up 24.5%).
