The Event ROI Institute is introducing a new professional qualification, the ROI Methodology Foundation Certificate. The certification programme involves an initial two-day course, a period of coaching during practical application and the completion of a meeting effectiveness evaluation report.

This programme is aimed at anyone engaged in the planning and evaluation of meetings and events in corporations, associations and public bodies, as well as meeting management professionals in companies providing products and services to meeting owners. It is a certificate for those who need to improve the effectiveness of meetings and events and to demonstrate value to stakeholders.

“This is very different from just a two-day ROI methodology course,” says Managing Partner Dr. Elling Hamso. “Participants bring to the programme a real life event of their own choice for planning and evaluation and we share their commitment to complete the final evaluation report.”

In addition to the training course and coaching, participants are invited to join the ROI Alumni Network, a community where past attendees from many different countries discuss their cases and share best practices.

The ROI Methodology Foundation Certificate is a professional qualification in its own right, but can also be a stepping stone to the ROI Certified Professional designation which involves a further three-day training course and a full financial ROI case study.

The trainers are Dr. Elling Hamso, Managing Partner of Event ROI Institute, together with partners Mika Lehtinen in Finland, Siegmar Ley in Germany and Peter Haigh in the United Kingdom.

In an effort to reach as many event management professionals as possible, the programme features “viral registration”. Here is how it works:
1. The participant registers for the programme and pays the full fee with a credit card.
2. The confirmation message includes a personal “viral registration code”.
3. The participant invites others to register for the same programme with his/her viral registration code, which will give them a 25% discount.
4. For every new participant using the code, 20% of the registration fee already paid is refunded to the participant’s credit card.

“Viral registration is just one of the many new and exciting marketing opportunities in the wake of social networks and online communities,” says Marketing and Media Manager Rosa Garriga Mora. “Participants are more motivated to offer their viral registration code because of the monetary incentive, while we reach thousands of potential participants through a trusted source. It is truly a win-win solution.”

The first programme will run in London 8-9 December, followed early in the New Year by Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt, Goteborg, Madrid and Milan.

The programme is also offered in-house to corporations and associations or as a joint programme with event management providers and their customers.
