European PCOs To Set New Standards

The European Federation of Associations of Professional Conference Organisers (EFAPCO) is to talk with the European Commission about adopting official standards for congress organisation.

EFAPCO invited to draw up its own proposals
Jean Bergevin, head of unit services with the Commission’s internal market, invited EFAPCO during its 2nd annual congress in Athens to draw up its own proposals for recognised standards. He then went on to suggest that the federation might be asked to launch a pilot project within the congress sector.

Certification and assessment
This comes at a time when service providers are being encouraged to develop certification and assessment of their activities by independent or accredited bodies.
