Last weekend, 1,000 members of EBV's staff were in Andalusia to participate in a huge reforestation project in Punto Umbria (Huelva), where they planted 7,500 trees.

Organized by top corporate events specialists Exploramas, the activity formed a part of the teambuilding and CSR programme designed for the staff at EBV Elektronik, which belongs to the multinational AVNET, with 300 offices in 70 countries.

Reforestation is one of the most popular CSR initiatives with European companies, because it reduces CO2 emissions and helps to regenerate the environment.

The reforestation programme in which EBV participated marks a milestone in Spain as regards CSR initiatives, since a project of this nature has never been carried out on such a large scale before, with over 1,000 employees contributing to recuperating the area by planting thousands of indigenous trees threatened with extinction.

As well as making an important contribution to environmental protection, this type of activity forges stable emotional links between participants and the reforested area, encouraging them return at a later date, thus giving a boost the area's local economy.

The reforestation and other activities designed for EBV were carried out in fun, organized and safe way, providing the participants with information and training, in addition to heightening their awareness, all of which made for an unforgettable experience that has left a green mark on Andalusia.
