Due to the enormous demand for tickets, which have been on sale since last October, Delta Airlines has decided to increase the number of flights it operates between Malaga and New York from three to four a week.

The airline was at first only going to offer three flights a week, but because of the enormous demand, it will begin to operate an additional flight from 5 June 2008. The flights will depart from Malaga on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 2.10pm, while those departing from the airport John F. Kennedy will do so at 10.25pm, with a flight time of around eight hours.

With 16 seat in Business Elite Class and 158 in Tourist Class, it is hoped that 70,000 passengers will fly to Malaga during the first year of operations. The cost of a round-trip in Tourist Class starts at 600 euros.
