De Boer at Southampton Boat Show

De Boer participated in the prestigious PSP Southampton Boat Show with a spectacular temporary structure that captivated all those present at the event. An impressive double-decker aluminium structure, with an original roof and wood embellishments, provided the organizers with a unique and innovative structure to mark the 40th anniversary of the show.

Measuring 20x30m, an Emperor marquee, in combination with a Delta structure, housed an exhibition area keyed to life-style products, including health and beauty products, women’s accessories, luxury garden furniture, and art. The top floor was divided into three hospitality areas, with a terrace, meeting room and kitchen.

This two-storey, multifunctional structure offers many possibilities making it an ideal temporary venue for conferences, exhibitions, product launches or hospitality services.

The marquee is a hybrid of the double-decker Emperor, combined with the acknowledged and highly valued characteristics of the Delta marquee, allowing for the assembly of 5x5m tailor-made temporary structures. In addition, it incorporates the wood frames of the successful Emperor line, substituting those of aluminium, adding warmth and a touch of class to the marquee.

De Boer provided further structures in many of the show’s areas, including two additional venues, restaurants, first aid, bars and rooms. The giant 40x95m Jumbo Hall occupied the Ocean Pavilion, as did another 30x70 structure belonging to the same line, the Winward Pavilion. Eight Chalets and 12 Pyramid marquees were erected in the marina for the crews and their guests.

John Cochrane, commercial director of De Boer UK comments: “De Boer is very happy to form a part of this prestigious event and participate in its 40th anniversary, and we are of course delighted to provide the organizers with our new, innovative temporary structure, which adds a new dimension to the show.”

Held from 12-21 September, this year’s edition, organized in collaboration with ITV Meridian, registered 100,000 visitors. The crew of the GB team, lead by Ben Ainslie, as well as sailing and TV legends such as Sir Robin Knox-Johnston, Dame Ellen MacArthur, Steve Curtis MBE, Lady Pippa Blake and Kate O’Mara, attended the opening ceremony to celebrate the event’s 40th edition.
