The 23rd edition of pharmaceutical show CPhI Worldwide, held in Madrid from 9-11 October 2012, attracted 2,200 companies and 30,000 professionals from over 130 countries.

The prestigious pharmaceutical firm Acino Switzerland entrusted Contemporanea Eventi with the design, construction and opening of its stand at the CPhI Worldwide, the world’s top pharmaceutical tradeshow.

It might seem a difficult task to stand out among thousands of companies working in the same industry, but this was not the case of Acino. Right from the beginning of the show, there was a constant flow of visitors to the company’s stand requesting further information about its products.

The bespoke stand that Acino commissioned from Contemporanea Eventi represented a fusion between the traditional techniques employed in building the Valencian "Fallas", known as "vareta", and the most innovative organic shapes. The result was a groundbreaking design recalling a snow-capped mountain, a symbol of Swiss nature. The client requested this communication strategy so as to create buzz and immediate brand awareness at the tradeshow. Likewise, Acino was also keen on positioning its brand through visual impact, instead of using conventional solutions such as technology (giant plasma screens, etc.).

In addition to two hostesses and a sophisticated catering service featuring typical Swiss products (cheese, chocolate, etc.), the stand also featured an engraving machine for customizing metal business card holders during the three-day show.

Contemporanea Eventi managed to put the spotlight on Acino with an attractive stand that signalled a break with tradition. With a surface area of 81sqm (9x9m) and a powerful emotional element transmitted through the lines of its design, the stand was an ideal vehicle for reflecting the principles of innovation and sustainability that the company stands for.
