Coinciding with the World Environment Day, Exploramas and the association Spanish Forests Mijas-Fuengirola signed a collaboration agreement with Mijas Town Council with the aim of starting up "Commitment", a voluntary active tourism project geared to promoting environmental education by means of different nature conservation initiatives.
By virtue of this agreement new tourism models will be implemented through free awareness seminars for school children and corporate events with a social purpose, as well as by supporting initiatives aimed at directly improving the environment. Likewise, Mijas Town Council also undertakes to provide the necessary human and material resources for reforestation activities, as well as the means to water during the summer the seedlings planted by Exploramas in the reforestation project it carried out last winter in Puerto Colorado, in collaboration with Spanish Forests Mijas-Fuengirola.
