The Andalusian Leisure Industry Training Centre will start its training programmes geared to improving the managerial skills of the participants in February. The objective of this initiative, which will be carried out in collaboration with the EOI Foundation, is to train managerial staff for the Costa del Sol’s tourist and leisure industries.

The Managerial Skills Development Course for Tourism and Leisure Industry Professionals is the first joint initiative carried out by these organisations since forming a strategic alliance in January 2007.

The course, which was scheduled for January, has been postponed until February because of the international tourism trade show FITUR, which many of the course’s participants will be attending, since the majority are professionals working in the tourist, leisure or hospitality industry.

The course will be held on Fridays (full day) and Saturdays (half day) from 8 February-26 April, including not only sessions in CIOMIJAS’ classrooms, but also outdoor ones and working lunches with the aim of uses different training methods.

CIOMIJAS’ director Mariola Ustaran is keen on introducing training options keyed to the Costa del Sol’s executives, who otherwise would have to travel to business schools further afield. Along these lines, the centre is currently working on a postgraduate programme in tourism and leisure.
