Alava Incoming, a non-profit business association for promoting Alava as a congress and holiday destination, has recently begun to market this product in the local hospitality industry by means of a Rioja Alavesa cava tasting course.
The Cava Regulatory Council covers 160 municipalities, located in seven autonomous communities, producing this type of sparkling wine. The majority of these are to be found in the Catalonian wine growing region, but it is also produced by Bodegas Faustino and Loli Casado, among others, in Alava. This sparkling wine is produced using traditional methods, with specific grape varieties, and is the perfect accompaniment to any meal.
