Burgos Showcases MICE Offerings in Brussels

On 3 December, the Burgos Convention Bureau participated in a workshop organized by the Institute of Tourism of Spain (Turespaña) as part of its international marketing strategy for Spanish destinations and tourism products.

Held at Les Jeux D’hiver, an idyllic and select venue, the workshop featured one-to-one meetings and networking opportunities with over 80 corporate and association buyers from the Belgium capital.

The Burgos Convention Bureau has welcomed this opportunity to meet with the Belgium capital’s chief MICE industry players, due to the fact that this has been the first time that the city has promoted its meeting and event offerings abroad and because of the important role Brussels plays in the industry.

At the end of the day, a dinner was held featuring the local delicacies from the different cities participating in the workshop. To this end, the Burgos Convention Bureau enlisted the help of the local sausage makers Embutidos Rios.

With its now consolidated position as a MICE destination, together with its fabulous World Heritage Sites – Burgos Cathedral, the St James Way, and Atapuerca – superb wines and cuisine, geographical location, wide range of hotels, new convention centre (Forum Evolution), and the fact that it is the birthplace of the Spanish language, Burgos is now all set to conquer international markets.

Next year, the Burgos Convention Bureau intends to promote the city in a number of Central European markets, with the aim of drumming up business, in collaboration with the Spain Convention Bureau and Turespaña.
