Andalusia All Set to Promote Itself in Berlin’s ITB

The aim of Andalusia’s presence in the International Tourism Bourse (ITB), which is due to be held from the 7-11 March, is to consolidate the region as an attractive destination and a benchmark for quality and innovation.

The German market
Just as the ITB is the second most important tourism fair in the world, so the Germany is the second most important market for Andalusia, due chiefly to the loyalty of German tourists. Three out of every ten Germans who chose Andalusia as their destination in 2005 returned the following year.

Average spending
According to the results of a study conducted by the Regional Department of Tourism, German tourists spent 53.18 euros per day, which is above average. In addition, 77% stayed at hotels, and rated the climate, the beaches and the monuments as the main attractions.

Ranked third by regions
Andalusia is third most visited Spanish region by German tourists, behind the Balearic and Canary Isles. Furthermore, Spain is the third most popular country, after France and Austria.
