Alvaro Maestro de Leon New Congress Planning Director of MSB Events

Alvaro Maestro de Leon has been recently appointed as the new Congress Planning Director of the Spanish OPC MSB Events. In his new post, he will be responsible for strengthening the company’s trade show and congress division.

With a diploma in Tourist Companies and Activities, Maestro de Leon has 15 years of experience in the tourist industry, occupying a number of different posts. He started his career in hospitality in 1984, working for several hotel chains. Then from 1988-May 2005, he occupied several posts as trade delegate in the corporative division of Viajes El Corte Ingles. From 1990-2001, his task was to strengthen the company’s inbound MICE division, until his appointment as Corporate Account Manager in 2005, whose responsibilities included negotiating large accounts, managing implants and out-plants and co-ordinating the Spanish management team at the Viajes El Ingles’ headquarters. From May 2005-April 2008, he occupied the post of Business Management and Marketing Director of the Occidental Miguel Angel Hotel in Madrid.
