IFEMA receives the ISO 22320 Emergency Management certificate from AENOR

It highlights the Institution's capacity to respond effectively to an emergency situation.

Madrid, 16 April 2019.- AENOR, the leading entity in the field of certification, has awarded IFEMA the Emergency Management certificate, by which it accredits the Institution's capacity to provide an effective response to an emergency situation. This certificate is based on the UNE-EN ISO 22320 Standard for the Protection and Security of Citizens. Emergency Management. Incident response requirements. 

The General Director of IFEMA, Eduardo López-Puertas, who has received the ISO 22320 certificate from AENOR's Director of Sectorial Marketing and Product, Pablo Corróns, has highlighted that "by obtaining this certificate, IFEMA's capacity to manage emergency situations is demonstrated, both by the work of its security team and by the facilities, which are equipped with the latest technologies and quality standards in this area".

For Pablo Corróns, "the AENOR certificate for Emergency Management demonstrates that IFEMA successfully applies the best practices in the world in this area, contained in the international standard ISO 22320. AENOR has certified the first 30 organizations according to this standard, whose ultimate goal is to save lives and minimize possible damages. 

The constant renovation of the security systems of its facilities is one of the areas to which IFEMA pays special attention, with the aim of ensuring adequate protection and quality to the 3.6 million visitors who come to its premises each year, and through which 700,000 vehicles circulate. Thus, for example, last September, the Institution completed the installation of a high security system for access control and video surveillance at Feria de Madrid, consisting of a set of protection devices designed with state-of-the-art barriers, as well as video surveillance equipment deployed in strategic positions, fully integrated and operated centrally.
