The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Sports area, has opened the deadline for submission of grants for the organization of sporting events of insular interest and tourist relevance to be held in Tenerife in 2019. In addition, the Island Corporation has opened the deadline for submitting applications for subsidies to cover part of the management and administration costs of the Sports Federations of Tenerife and the organization of the Town Hall Cups. Both deadlines end on March 25. The information and documentation can be consulted at the website of the Cabildo https://sede.tenerife.es/es/tramites-y-servicios/

These subsidies are part of the Tenerife 2030 strategy, the aim of which is to improve training and promote healthy lifestyles among the island's population. Thus, the Cabildo earmarks 150,000 euros for the organization of sporting events of insular interest and tourist relevance in Tenerife during 2019, while aid for the Sports Federations and the Cabildo Cups are around 36,000 and 38,000 euros, respectively.

The aid for the organization of events serve to finance the organization of tests in Tenerife that are referenced nationally and internationally at the sporting level and also export the image of the island as a quality destination. Similarly, there is an item intended to finance training events, so that they can be held in Tenerife courses, seminars and forums whose objective is the sports training of technical staff. The aid for events do not include nautical sports, which have their own subsidies through the program Tenerife + Blue developed by the Cabildo through the public company Ideco. Also, events organized by Ideco such as Fred are not included. Olsen Tenerife Bluetrail or adapted sport events that are part of the Island Plan for Adapted and Inclusive Sport of Tenerife.

For their part, the subsidies for Sports Federations are used to cover part of the ordinary expenses that the Federations have, among which are included the payment of rents, expenses of supplies, office material and trophies. The grants have a multiplier coefficient of gender perspective for those federations whose Boards of Directors include among their members, at least one woman, with the aim of promoting equal access, participation and representation of women in the sporting field. Similarly, the subsidies provide for a multiplier coefficient for federations with licences for children under 18 years of age, in such a way as to promote quarry work.
