Orpesa boosts its family tourism offer through sports events

Orpesa reinforces its offer aimed at family tourism with its presence at the most important tourism fair in Spain, Fitur. Mayor Rafael Albert has served this Wednesday as the standard-bearer of the coastal town, which in 2018 became the second preferred destination in Spain for vacation rental. "We are spending a lot of money on sporting events. Many municipalities in the province have specialized in festivals and we bet on sport as an attraction to attract whole families out of season," said Albert.

An example of this is the Mediterranean Epic, which has been presented during the first day of Fitur and will land in Orpesa next February 14 until 17. Sonia Bellés, Sports Councillor, has highlighted the great media and tourist impact that will be this test for the town. "To have passed from category S3 to S1 means that we have positioned ourselves within the best tests at international level. In just one year we have beaten all records. In this edition participate about 800 athletes who for four days will be staying in the town," a fact that is an injection for hotel entrepreneurs.

New tourist guide

One of the most outstanding novelties of this edition of Fitur is the presentation of the new tourist guide of Orpesa del Mar that comes to light after months of work with the idea of presenting a family destination with an unbeatable offer of beaches, leisure, cultural and sporting events. This is a very visual element that, under the slogan Beaches, History, Nature ... Mediterranean, is accompanied by a QR code that redirects visitors to the tourist portal to learn more about the destination.

This new guide is the first phase of a project that will see its continuation with the presentation of cards that serve to support the content of the same one and that, in a very practical way, will show the aspects and tourist resources more relevant of the city.

Featured Destination

In recent years, Orpesa's tourism policy has been aimed at developing and promoting family tourism. In this sense, Albert has indicated that "we continue betting for the product of familiar tourism to which, from the Concejalía of Tourism, a great effort is being dedicated him since it is the strong point of our destiny". "Most of the activities organized by both the City Council and tourism companies are aimed at this public and are giving very positive results," he added.

And is that the coastal offer is unbeatable, as it has seven exceptional beaches: Les Amplàries, Morro de Gos, La Concha, Cala Orpesa La Vella, Cala del Retor, La Renegà and Platgetes de Bellver. Recognised with the most important quality awards, they offer exceptional weather conditions to enjoy throughout the year, in addition to a complete and varied programme of leisure, culture, health tourism, children's parks and sports.

It should be noted that 80% of Orpesa's tourists are national, mainly from Madrid, Valencia and Catalonia, followed by Aragon and the Basque Country.
